A Practical Approach to Color in Oil Painting


Materials list


Six  --   11 x 14 canvases, panels, or prepared paper

Two --  20 x 30  inch canvases for larger application challenges

All of these should be coated with 2 additional layers of gesso 

Cheap Joes green label is recommended for its thickness and calcium content


A full set of brushes including:

2 #2 Richeson Wash Brushes (available at the studio)

1 Dakota Princeton #10 or 12 bright (or the equivalent) Sharp flat edge


A good clean large painting knife

RMG #33  (recommended and available at the studio)

A full set of oil colors including:  (I plan to have most of these colors for sale)
