Summer Art Exercises: Painting 8 (PALETTE CONTROL)

Painting 8:

So far our previous palette control exercises have played with brighter colors. Today we will switch things up to mix and paint with some greyed neutrals. To create these greyed neutrals we will make chromatic neutrals by mixing compliments together. Next we will add some white to lighten them, if needed.

Chromatic neutrals are very important in paintings, can anyone list some of the reasons why?
