A Note from Andy: Braitman Studio Summer Workshops 2014
Hi this is Andy Braitman and I just want to talk a second about our workshops this summer. We have workshops designed to help you become a better painter by working on the three important legs of the painting process. As painters we only have three distinct skills: picking a color, how we load up the brush or the knife, and how we put it down on the canvas. Those are the three skills we use.
Instructors Allison Chambers and Kelley Brugh are beginning our teaching with how to get a painting started. Allison taught a Fundamentals Workshop and Kelley and Allison are teaching the next step, a Follow the Leader Workshop, which is very exciting! Andy is teaching a color theory class (that's me) that'll help us work on what color to choose. Kelley is teaching a Daily Painting (brushstroke) Workshop, which will help us pick out and load the brush up. Nicholas Stewart is teaching the third leg of that which we call surface. Here we will learn how to put the paint down and how to prepare the surface to receive paint (it's one of the most important aspects of the painting process).
Color theory, brushstroke and surface are three elements that we need to make a successful painting. Please take advantage of our talented staff this summer and if you have any questions, call us at 704-846-1369!
