Artists to Know: Clark Hawgood

This week's Artists to Know, is none other than Braitman Studio's own, Clark Hawgood. Clark has taught painting for more than 25 years, however, he's been a painter is whole life. His work displays a bold and fearless approach to painting. It is very obvious he knows the rules, but his unexpected way of handling the materials sets him apart. Right when you think you know his next move, the work takes a different approach.

Having instructed at Braitman Studio Art School for the past 16 years, Clark graduated from East Carolina University with a B.F.A in Painting and has been an Art Instructor at the prestigious Charlotte Latin School for the past 12 years. His students have won 30+ gold key awards in the Scholastic Art Competition during his tenure and in both 2010 & 2011, Clark received The National Scholastic Art Award.
